Small practice pieces

A nice little round weave. I love the colourful creations I have seen online so I wanted to try it out. I think I need a lot more practice but I still think this messy little creation is still quite cute

A square weave using yellow boodles textile yarn. Not sure what I'm going to use this for but I love how quick and easy it is.

I have wanted to make a blanket for a long while.  This is my first attempt, it's going to be a baby blanket, I love the colours and love how soft it is.

Flowers and cupcakes

For a long time now I have been wanting to crochet some flowers so today I dug out an old magazine for a pattern

This is what I have managed so far. I plan to spend all day tomorrow making loads more. My sister wants some to make some nice hair accessories. I plan to sew some to cushions and blankets.
While making these for my sister it made me think of other things she liked that I could make. Cupcakes instantly came to mind, ( we both love cupcakes, I think we all do) . As I have been spending a lot of time online recently coming across lots of amazing blogs and craft websites, I thought I could find a pattern online. And I did. Lots of them. I tried out two different patterns and this is how I got on

I much prefer the one on the left but it was a lot more time consuming. The one on the right isn't quite finished, it needs some beads sewn on top and wants to be stuffed. I think I'll leave that for my sister to do. However I would imagine it may still be waiting for me on my next visit to finish it off.
I'm off to bed now if I can drag myself away from my wool. I think my hobby is turning into a bit of an obsession as I can't wait to get up tomorrow to do some more crochet.

Baby cardigan

My best piece yet! so happy with my first try at a baby cardigan. I thought I would start off with baby clothes to gain more crochet skills. I bought the wool and pattern from hobby craft.
I loved every minute of this project, it's an easy pattern to follow and lovely soft wool and it's my favourite colour :)

Crochet footstool

This is my first attempt at crocheting a footstool. It took me a very long time as I kept switching to other projects, so I'm really glad it's done. It was super easy, I got the pattern from issue 4 of #crochet magazine. I'm gonna really enjoy putting my feet up on this 😊. Feeling proud

knitting loom

In the end I made a hat with my loom. I was surprised at how quick it was. I'm still quite a slow knitter so it was nice to get something made in 1 evening.

This little lady took a little longer. I really like amigurumi but it can take some time and patience as a beginner. I think I'm getting quicker though. I got this crochet as a kit free with simply crochet magazine, issue 36. 1 of my favourite magazines as it has lovely patterns in and has great free gifts.

Not too sure what I'll make next. I need to finish my foot stool and my loom wall hanging. Or I may give a mug hug another go.

I am loving my knitting loom! Unfortunately I don't know what I'm making, maybe it will make a nice snood. I've been wanting to make one for a while. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear.

crochet unicorn

I have done a little bit of crochet in the past, I wanted to try it again. This is a unicorn I have just finished. It took me quite some time but I am hoping to make it again a little quicker this time.
I found the pattern for this unicorn in Craft seller magazine issue 52. Which is by the way a really good magazine always full of great patterns and inspiration.

I am now working on a crochet pouffe which I have made half of, and trying to perfect some patterns for some mug cosies which I want to start selling on etsy. For something that looks so simple is actually proving quite difficult for me. I have also recently purchased a large round knitting loom which I need to learn how to use. If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can make with it will be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading guys have a great day :)
